More than a book: school curriculum based on "The City Is Me" book

In the autumn of 2021, special classes about the city "The City Is Me. Version: Lutsk" were conducted at the local schools. The game-like curriculum was based on "The City Is Me" book. The game was developed by the author of the book Iryna Ozymok and the NGO "Child Effect".

"This is a full 10lesson course. Each lesson offers interactive tasks, such as listening to a podcast, watching a video and working in a team. The game meets the NUS principles and approaches, and can be integrated into different subjects or conducted as an individual lesson or extracurricular activity."

The program is aimed to develop "soft skills" in children. They perform adult tasks that members of city councils, municipal services, communities in Ukraine deal with everyday. The basis is the case study method (immersion and study of a specific real case).

As of December 2022,schools from other cities including Kyiv, Lviv, Slavutych, Khmelnytskyi, Chortkiv, and others have joined the program.
